On the 22nd of September, a group of us went to the Eagles flight workshop. The main part of our day was spent on the game called the lost Dutch-man’s Gold the easiest way to describe it is as a Monopoly and Dungeons and Dragons hybrid set in western times. While the game was interesting, it did make us think about our decisions and their long term effects as we managed our supplies and thought of strategy. Everyone towards the end were thinking about that their actions had consequences as one group struggled to survive to return home.
I quite enjoyed the workshop as the talk given afterward made me think of my own choices and improving myself. The way that we were playing was a metaphorical way to the way we go for projects and goals. Some charged head first without thinking with confidence, some stayed behind wondering the best move and others went blind unsure of the best method of how to proceed with no plan for the future. It was interesting to see the trading on how some tried to get the best trade as people tried to cheat for victory as their competitive side possessed them.
The workshop was a good and as I said before interesting and I enjoyed spending more time with my classmates getting a better understanding of how they think.
